Washington Post: Rare flower rediscovered in Maryland after 112 years

Back in 2015, a few colleagues from the National Park Service and I rediscovered Solidago rupestris in Maryland. This was only possible because of a collaborative project with Amanda Treher at NatureServe. The subsequent media attention dropped all mention of my partner’s participation, which was very frustrating and embarrassing to me. The stories that were published generated serious mass media attention and that is always beneficial for biodiversity conservation.
